Among other things I read the white paper you mentioned along with Don Dodge's comments on the chalenges.

It's a big issue and I am not going to comment on the SaaS subject here but I am posting this comment to quote Michael Skok as quoted by Don Dodge in his post on funny figure:

Don Dodge says that Michael Skok says: "SaaS companies need an average of $35M in VC capital, versus $20M for a similar perpetual license company."

What????

A VC would only own something like half the company and half the average investment is $35M????

Even if the total investment was $10M, I would consider it huge.... No such VCs around here (Greece) I am afraid...
