Description

®     The engineer is expected to work on backend services, such as databases, workflows and data services.

®     The engineer is expected to work on front end services, namely web site design (navigation, cms related work, SEO), integrating with software services and will author unit tests.

®     Documentation of the source code. Preparation of technical documentation and authoring of unit tests.

Desired background

®     The engineer should have an understanding of urgency, complete with the ability to accept the presence of hacks to meet a deadline.

®     The engineer will have a creative license; therefore strong drive is a must.

®     A degree in computer science, or equivalent.

®     4-6 years of experience in the technologies sought (see technical qualifications).

®     Desire for pursuing a career in a fast growing and IT intensive company.

®     Excellent command of the English language.

Developer Skills

®     Very strong design and programming skills, with great attention to detail (but not obsession) and design. Ability to implement ideas using the .NET framework, Visual Studio (ASP.NET, C#, .Net 2.0 - 4.0, Visual Studio 2008+)

®     Good understanding of Software Architecture and Design Patterns. Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture. Excellent grasp of Object Oriented programming and concepts. Familiarity with UML.

®     Strong understanding of SQL programming and data architecture. Ability to implement using SQL Server 2005+ and LINQ to SQL.

®     Experience with version control. Subversion (TortoiseSVN, VisualSVN) is to be used.

®     Plus: Experience in XML and Web Services. Ability to implement using WCF 3.5+.

®     Plus: Technical documentation skills. Tools to be decided upon with the team.

®     People management experience will be considered as an asset.
