Blog Marketing "The Blue Monster" |
In 2006, blogger & cartoonist, Hugh MacLeod created a cartoon called "The Blue Monster", and published it on his blog. gapingvoid.com. The cartoon read, "Microsoft. Change The World Or Go Home.“ The cartoon got noticed by a few people inside Microsoft, and word started to spread on it. Eventually the Blue Monster ended up all over Microsoft, downloaded and printed up onto posters, lithographs, stickers and t-shirts. One Microsoft employee even got it tattooed onto his arm. Hugh MacLeod will talk about the cartoon's meaning, its genesis, how it spread throughout the entire Microsoft ecosystem, and what this now-famous "Marketing 2.0" case study means for companies like Microsoft in the future. |
