Χμ... Μόνον εγώ είμαι ο μαζοχιστής λοιπόν;

Το λέω αυτό, γιατί κάνω πολύ συχνά επανεγκαταστάσεις των windows, γιατί θέλω το σύστημα να είναι στην εντέλεια. Συν τοις άλλοις, για ένα διάστημα που αναγκάστηκα να δουλέψω μέσα από VMware, αγανάκτησα με την ταχύτητα του UI (είχα και nvidia driver τότε, ο οποίος έχει σοβαρό πρόβλημα με 2 οθόνες).

Εγώ πάντως ακολούθησα τις συμβουλές σου και έχω στήσει ένα PC στο οποίο μέχρι στιγμής έχω καταφέρει να έχω εγκατεστημένο μόνο λειτουργικό και VPC. Δεν έχει αντικαταστήσει πλήρως το βασικό μου μηχάνημα αλλά είμαι σε καλό δρόμο. Και η δυνατότητα να πετάς ένα VPC ή να γυρνάς σε ένα παλιότερο είναι αναντικατάστατη.

Δεν νομίζω να φτάσω σε αυτούς τους παραλλογισμούς...

Αλλά αυτή η μανία που έχω να έχω σχεδόν όλη μου την δουλειά μέσα σε VMs, δεν είναι αποκλειστικά δικό μου καπρίτσιο. Διαβάζοντας νέα σαν και αυτό, καταλαβαίνω ότι και άλλοι έχουν παρόμοιες ανησυχίες.

Θα ήταν ακόμη καλύτερα να έτρεχες το VPC μέσα από VMWare σε κανένα MAC ή Linux Box...

Το δοκίμασε κάποιος;

Επειδή τρέχω το VS 2005 μέσα σε VPC, το δοκίμασα με PocketPC 2003 SE, δεν κατόρθωσα να το κάνω να συνδεθεί. Πιθανώς να φταίει οτι προσπαθώ να τρέχω το Network Virtual driver σε μια κάρτα που είναι ήδη virtual...

Internet Connectivity from WM5.0 Emulator without ActiveSync

I've been asked a few times recently about setting up Internet connectivity with the WM5.0 emulator; I usually point people to this post: http://blogs.msdn.com/akhune/archive/2005/11/16/493329.aspx . However, if you want to do it without ActiveSync..

1.Install the Virtual Machine Network Driver for Microsoft Device Emulator[1]

2. In Visual Studio 2005, open Tools>Options. Select Device Tools >
Devices. Then select the 'Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Emulator' and click the Properteies button

3. Change Transport in the Emulator properties to 'TCP Connect Transport'. Then click the 'Configure' button. You can then set an IP for the emulator.

4. Click the Emulator Options button. In the Emulator Properties dialog that opens, select the Network tab. Make certain that the 'Enable NE2000 PCMCIA network adapter and bind to:" box is checked and that you have selected the correct network adapter of your computer.

5. OK your way out of these dialogs

6. Start the emulator. Start > Settings > Network Cards

7. Tap NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver. Make sure it is set to 'Use server-assigned IP address. Tap OK (and tap OK on the dialog that comes up).

8. Make certain that the 'My network card connects to:" drop-down is set to 'The Internet'

9. Clear any saved state from the emulator and reset it.

10. Open up Internet Explorer Mobile and enter your URL...
