We have a successful track record of designing and providing complex Microsoft Hosting Solutions worldwide often on behalf of Microsoft.

We are looking for experienced and talented freelance individuals to join our team on a subcontracting basis as Senior Database Administrators.

Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Position Summary:
The Senior Database Administrator designs and builds relational databases for data storage and processing. This person will also develop strategies for data architecture, warehousing, acquisition, and archive recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Manages the administration of PSI’s data bases including, but not limited to, SQL
•   Analyzes the organization’s database needs and develops and short and long-term strategy for data storage.
•   Establishes policies and procedures related to data security and integrity and monitors, limits database access as needed
•   Responsible for monitoring and managing application efficiency
•   Analyze data access queries for efficiencies in custom developed systems and packages
•   Oversees the deployment of and provide assistance in the deployment of patches, hot fixes on the PSI used servers as prescribed by the Global Infrastructure group
•   Add, remove, and modify user access rights based on roles and responsibilities
•   Install or upgrade databases to latest versions
•   Establish data architecture standards utilizing data models, etc.
•   Provide assistance to staff in developing efficient SQL code
•   Develop and implement a data archive strategy
•   Troubleshoot system and application problems
•   Establish business relationships with the corporate IT Shared Services and Infrastructure teams
•   Perform, schedule, monitor daily, weekly, and monthly file and database backups as required
•   Comply with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures
•   Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

•   Associates Degree in Computer Science, equivalent work experience acceptable
•   Relevant technical certificates a plus
•   8+ years of related technical work experience SQL databases. Oracle and others are a plus
•   Proficient with SQL language and able to develop queries and programs as needed
•   Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills are a must
•   Able to assume and complete assignments independently
•   Ability to explain and champion technical concepts to a broad audience
•   Advanced knowledge in creating and maintaining management level and detailed project plans utilizing Microsoft products
•   Excellent technical skills required
•   Strong analytical and product management skills for diagnostic tools required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
