During the keynote this morning, Andy Lees showed a slide with a comparison chart of the costs between Microsoft SQL Enterprise and Oracle. SQL has many features and tools included, for Oracle you have to buy expensive add-ons, which can make Oracle 4 to 8 times more expensive, OK this is a Microsoft conference but that can't be off that much! amazing. Also security issues found in Oracle comared to SQL were about 27 to 1 in the past year. I hope to have the slides soon so you have a cleat view, what we saw.
Anyway for Oracle users Microsoft has released the SQL Server Migration Assistant, which can help Oracle users migrate from expensive Oracle to SQL 2000 or SQL 2005.

SQL Server is the premier relational database management system, offering a complete, end–to–end database management solution that industry leaders such as Motorola, Simon & Schuster, Sony Ericsson, and Dow Chemical have been migrating to from Oracle. Migrating to SQL Server is now easier than ever with SQL Server Migration Assistant. SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) is a complete suite of tools that automates all phases of the migration process from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server, enabling customers to migrate their databases quickly, easily and accurately. Many organizations continue to run their applications on other databases because the cost and complexity of migrating are so daunting. SSMA addresses these concerns by automating almost every aspect of database migration, including assessment, schema and data migration, business logic conversion, validation, integration and performance analysis. As a result, the time, cost, and risks associated with migrating to SQL Server are greatly reduced. This enables customers to take advantage of SQL Server’s superior developer productivity, scalability, security, and the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership (TCO).
