Yes [Y] TechEd GrokTalks have begun filming

1 TechEd GrokTalks have begun filming r
Two weeks ago I first mentioned the GrokTalks that the Microsoft RDs were planning for TechEd US 2005 - albeit in a shroud of secrecy.   Scott Hanselman gave the first detailed description of these GrokTalks.  The short version is that they are unique 10-minute presentations that convey the essence of a variety of topics.  I had mine filmed at the end of the day on Tuesday - it was fun.  At the end of conference, once we have had time to do the required editing, there will be over 40 of these presentations available for viewing - be sure to check them out at www.GrokTalk.net

Και τα πρώτα έξι είναι έτοιμα:

1 First batch of 6 videos ready r

The first batch of videos are complete!

Please note that these only have one stream, 512kbps, which is quite rich. I'll be adding another stream of ~300kbps on the next round. Chris Kinsman helped me test and discovered that I really should add another lower-bandwidth stream. Click on http://groktalk.net/asx/patrick_hynds_twostreams.asx for a lower-bandwidth test; it's only 30 seconds but it will work if you're on a slower connection.

Incidently, you can get statistics on your stream by hitting View | Statistics in WMPlayer 10. If you're having trouble viewing, please post a comment with your statistics details. And make sure you're using WMPlayer 10 too.

Hanselman turned me onto SmartFTP to upload the monster WMV files to this site. Awesome program.

Re: TechEd GrokTalks have begun filming

Μετά από κάμποσο καιρό, και τα υπόλοιπα GrokTalks είναι διαθέσιμα...

1 The GrokTalks are Up - PodCast Them r

Some amazing work was done by Scott Stanfield and the folks at Vertigo Software. They've finished the GrokTalks and have uploaded them. Congrats to the RDs who worked so hard on their talks and ORCSWeb for making this site possible!

    How to Watch the Videos

You can download the videos directly from their links, but you can also Podcast them (have them automatically download from an agent) using any Podcasting Application pointed to our RSS feed.

I recommend DrizzleCast as it will download the videos using only idle bandwidth using Microsoft's built in BITS technology. If you are using an RSS Reader like FeedDemon, you may already have this functionality built in, so check your software's help files.

    Some Tech

Vertigo gave me an XML file with the GrokTalks listed and I wrote a quicky XSLT to transform that XML directly into a dasBlog consumable entry for each talk! I've upload the XML and the XSLT for those interested.

    Enjoy!
    Scott Hanselman
