I have been using Skype intensively for some months now, to make both personal and professional voice and video calls. Put aside the superb quality of voice and video (which I've seen also in other solutions like Live Messenger), I noticed some very simple, yet extremely useful features that differentiate it from the competition: Incoming call notification on all speakers : This means that you can have your headphones pluged in so that you can use them to communicate, but still hear the incoming call notifications when you are not wearing them! (see 1st picture) Order of preference for sound devices : This is very useful if you are using a laptop and your sound equipement changes frequently. You can specify which device (speakers/microphone) will be used for communication. If not found the next available will be used etc. So if you want to use the microphone of your external camera at work but the integrated microphone of your laptop when you are on the move, you don't have to get into the options page...

After creating PivotingChart Module I was able to really control the fluent DevExpress Pivot grid options at runtime and design more complex analysis pivoting UI writing no code and save all that “configuration” at the same database record as the analysis object. But I was still developing inside my VS and since my model was not stable yet I continuous drop the database using the DxCore addin to drop database at design time which by the way have been updated to support multiple datastores and damn I lose the designed analysis UI cause it was stored in the database Time for some IO module use I could export my analysis objects and use the following code to load the configured objects at application start up from an embedded resource public class Updater : ModuleUpdater Διαβάστε περισσότερα »...

Some time ago one of our two air-conditioning units stopped working: it would just startup when plugged-in to the mains, but not respond to any commands via the remote control. The air-con repair guy who came unscrewed its cover and used some manual control buttons located in there to operate it, so he unplugged a small IR (infrared) Receiver module and took it for repair. Πιστοποίησεις... σας έχουν βοηθήσει; Οχι στην θεωρία... στην πράξη ! Και δεν μιλάω για της Microsoft μόνο, γενικότερα Cisco, Linux, Oracle... και σας μιλάει ένας άνθρωπος που δόξα τον Θεό (αυτό θα το αναλύσουμε αλλού) έχω αρκετές και πάω και για άλλες. Αλλά αναρωτιέμαι, γιατί σχετικά με την ελληνική πραγματικότητα (επίσης θα αναλυθεί αλλού) λίγοι είναι αυτοί που δείχνουν ενδιαφέρον και το αποτιμούν κιόλας στο "ταμείο". Δεν μιλάμε για τους HR οι οποίοι οι άνθρωποι δεν έχουν ιδέα...δυστηχώς, αλλά και οι IT-wise άνθρωποι, δεν δείχνουν και μεγάλη εκτίμηση σε κάτι τέτοιο. THE PROBLEM WorldCreator creates dynamic types for used within Xaf. It is doing that by compiling code templates at WorldCreator module setup method. To find those templates it has to query a persistent datastore using XPO. Now when you create a new XPO session it will check if all object types that XPObjectType table contains if are valid. So if you have used customizedtypesinfo to create runtime associations since it is called after module setup it will throw an exception complaining for invalid tables. Saying the above you understand that there is no way to open a connection to an XPO database that has records for objects with associations that have not fully defined. I am in a mood this year so I decided to spend some time with a problem that I have left in the past. The problem I really wanted to use Runtime member for existent Types and also enable validation for those members. But for the reason i have describe in this post it was not possible, unless I change DevExpress source code and recompile (bad choice). DevExpress and any vendor could, for their own reasons not support your suggestion. Maybe for good or for bad I really not care, what I care is how to use Runtime member for existent Types with validation enable. RIA Services has a strange way (personal opinion) of doing code generation for references services, instead of using the traditional Service Reference approach. Actually, regardless of Resharper and the problem I'm describing underneath, when I first saw a RIA Services application I was really wondering how this works. And it seems that Resharper is "wondering" also! That's why if you are using Resharper code inspection and/or intellisense you will notice that the classes that are supposed to be generated by RIA Services are not "visible" in your project. Actually if you do nothing, but just create a new 'Silverlight Business Application' using the Visual Studio template and open then App.xaml.cs you will see the picture bellow.
