Judging from MySQL documentation at https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/datetime.html, it sounds best to use DATETIME rather than TIMESTAMP if you want your database to be future proof. based on the other samples posted at StackOverflow on how to format XML created by DataContractSerializer, that use XmlWriter, here’s a version (from ClipFlair source code) that works with streams (and Ionic.Zip library in specific).
